JPSellerCheck is an independent database of Japanese eBay sellers, built to help international buyers shop safely and confidently.
We analyze publicly available seller reputation data and buyer feedback to assess each seller across four dimensions — reliability, packaging quality, shipping speed, and communication. For priority sellers, M.Sato adds a personal expert review based on direct experience with the Japanese eBay seller market.
Our goal is simple: answer the question "Is this seller legit?" before you buy.

We collect recent buyer feedback comments per seller from eBay's platform. This gives us a direct view into real buyer experiences — shipping times, packaging quality, card condition accuracy, and communication.

Each seller receives a Trust Score from 0–100, calculated from positive feedback rate, total feedback volume, Top Rated Seller status, years of activity, and patterns detected in buyer comments.

For priority sellers, M.Sato adds a personal assessment — the kind of insight that only comes from years of directly analyzing Japanese eBay sellers. Not every seller has this yet, but it's what sets us apart.

How the Trust Score Works
The Trust Score is a composite 0–100 rating. Here's how the points are allocated:
Positive feedback rate ≥ 99.5%up to 40 pts
Total feedback volumeup to 30 pts
Top Rated Seller status20 pts
Years of activityup to 10 pts
Total100 pts
Scores are recalculated weekly as new feedback data is collected. AI-assisted analysis of comment text may apply additional adjustments for red flags such as condition misrepresentation or location inconsistencies.

We review sellers based on their actual buyer feedback records, not on commercial arrangements. Sellers cannot pay to improve their score or review.
Data & Updates
Seller data is updated on a weekly basis. Trust Scores are recalculated whenever new feedback is detected. Expert reviews by M.Sato are added and updated on an ongoing basis as priority sellers are analyzed.
We are continuously expanding our seller database. If a seller you're looking for isn't in our system yet, you can submit a review request from their page and we'll prioritize adding them.
